How to do a Foot Spa at Home
For most of us, a foot spa is the most relaxing way to release all the stress we face in our mundane lives. Thus, making reservations and getting out of the house may seem like a task, especially when all you want to do is take a good rest at home. If you want to do your own foot spa at home, this will be your ultimate guide.
Firstly, find a relaxing spot at home where you can set up all the apparatus you need. Make sure you've placed everything you need nearby so you don't need to get up repeatedly.
Next, you will need: A tub of warm water, your favorite essential oil, a cup of sugar or sea salt, a cup of oats, 2 tablespoons of honey, moisturizing cream, nail cleaning essentials, cotton swabs, and a clean towel.
Prepping Your Nails
Use a nail polish remover to clean your nails. Cut your nails to the desired shape and length using your nail cutter.
Soaking Your Feet
Fill up some warm water in a tub enough to cover your ankles. Add the sea salt and your favorite essential oil. Your best bet would be among lavender, peppermint, and lemon oil. Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes or until you feel relaxed. Remove your feet from the water and dry them with a fresh, clean towel.
Scrubbing Out The Dead Skin
Once you've pat dried your feet, put a little massage cream or moisturizing cream on the base of your toenails to soften the dead skin. Also, massage your feet while you're waiting for your cuticle to soften. Next, start cleaning your nails using a cuticle pusher. Then, exofliate your feet by using a foot scrub. Rinse off the scrub and towel dry your feet.
Moisturize Your Feet
Now that your feet are clean, moisturize your skin. Use almond oil or olive oil. Again, massage your feet while using one of these oils. You can also mix almond oil or olive oil with your favorite oil. Regular massages stimulate your nerve endings and incite blood circulation. So your skin is nourished, and the muscles are rejuvenated.
And voila! Your feet are now clean, refreshed, and ready to face the next week's stress! What did you think of this DIY foot spa? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
