Rica first appeared in Ang TV. ABS CBN's afternoon show. Then she became one of the lead actresses in T.G.I.S in GMA when she transfered and after a year, Rica moved back to ABS CBN where she had a lot of projects, namely, Gimik, Oka Tokat, Mula Sa Puso, Marinella, Palibhasa Lalake, and Oki Doki Doc.
Later on, Rica was regarded as "Scream Queen" of the Philippine movies for she did an astounding job to her roles in horror movies.
On the other hand, Rica also did daring roles during her reign. Her movies as a sexy star include Balahibong Pusa and Tatarin.
On her later years, she became one of the hosts of Umagang Kay Ganda where her talent as a host was comprehended.
She married her boyfriend, Joseph Bonifacio, a pastor in Every Nation Church, in 2010. Then in 2014, she gave birth to their first born, Philip Nathaniel.
Just last year, she announced that she will officially give up her showbiz career to focus on her family, especially on being a full-time-mom to their son, Philip.
