Makeup: KOREAN OR AMERICAN?
Hi there makeup aficionadas! Are you joining the bandwagon for that natural look makeup that the Korean beauty is most popular for? Or would you rather go for the craze of the sultry American makeup style?
Korean makeup is all about looking naturally young, fresh and radiant. On the other side, American women tend to fancy a sun-kissed look with arched brows, contoured cheekbones and full hot lips. Here are more differences:
EYEBROWS
Straighter and fuller brows lend a more youthful, innocent look to the face, so this is what Korean women are inclined to prefer. A variation of this is the slightly rounder-shaped brows for a more feminine fee.
American women on the other hand favors a more defined and arched brow that gives the look of sexiness and sophistication. And of course it tends to be more sassy.
EYES
Korean women usually select subtle and shimmery pink, champagne or peach shades on their eyelids. For eyeliner, they usually fill in the upper lash line with a brown or black eye pencil and extend it slightly outwards for naturally defined looking eyes.
Bolder, smokey eyes and a strong graphic cat eyes are for the American look. The makeup style tries to bring out the creases and contour of the yes with highlighting color on the brow bone; darker shadow to the outer corner of the eyelid and to the crease.
SKIN
That dewy, moist, glowing skin – like you just got out of the shower -- is what the Korean women are well-known for. To pull this off, you’ve got to have a blemish-free skin. But if you’re not so blessed with perfect skin, BB cream is the next consolation.
Tanned, matt skin with contoured cheekbones is what American women favor. Some actually do not just tan their skin, they bronze them like crazy.
LIPS
To give the appearance of sweet rosebud lips, Korean women use pink, corals or peach to achieve that gradient effect on the lips – this is the top look for Korean women. Concealer is usually used instead of lip liner to tone down the lip color and create the illusion of ombre lip – where the color is only strong in the center of the lip.
On the other hand, the American women leans on the pouty, full sexy lip look. So they prefer lining their lips perfectly with a lip liner and going over it with a matte lipstick to complete the effect.
Now don’t limit yourself in applying only one makeup style. You can actually wake up as one person and leave the house someone else; and there is nothing wrong about that. So which makeup style do you fancy more?
