How To Keep Your Nails At Their Best Without A Manicure
With work or school, sometimes we only have time to take care of our hair or face or even none of them. The essentials to take care ourselves might be expensive or might be too time consuming that we sometimes forget taking care of our nails.
Having a mani-pedi weekly or even monthly can be off the budget so here are tips that will help you take care of your nails without a manicure.
Wash Your Hands Daily
You were taught to wash our hands everyday and this isn't a suggestion. You use our hands everywhere so it is a must to wash it regularly. There can be dirt under your nails so to remove it easily, try using a toothbrush at night to get rid of it.
Don't Bite Your Nails
Biting your fingernails is a bad habit that weakens you nailbeds. Our nails can also be very dirty so you shouldn't be putting them in your mouth. Nail cutters are there for a reason, use them to keep your hands looking neat and polished.
Soak Your Nails In Lemon Juice
Mix together a tablespoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Microwave for 10-15 seconds and after letting it cool for a moment, place your nails in the lemony mixture. This all natural remedy is an awesome way to strengthen those nails and keep them looking shiny and healthy.
Moisturize Your Cuticles
You apply lotion to your hands and your whole body. Don't forget your cuticles. During a manicure, they regularly push back the cuticle as it grows over the nail. However, this can sometimes irritate and the skin can have an infection. Apply olive oil or lotion to the cuticle. There are also products you can buy for cuticle care.
Avoid Having Regular Manicures
Too much of anything can be a bad thing. Let your nails breather. Consistent manicures where the nail bed is being soaked too often in water or is regularly coming in contact with acetone can do real damage over time.
