Get Rid Of The 'Tikwas' From Your Hair With These Tips!

by Joanne Millares September 26, 2017 How To's & DIY

Isn't it just annoying when you're all up and ready but when you look at the mirror, you see your hair flipping out or in Filipino terms, 'may tikwas'?

The flip of your hair (in this specific instance) is due to the weight distribution in your cut. When external layers are cut, the bulk of the weight is removed from the outside of the hair. This can lead to difficulty controlling the shape, because without weight in the right places you get flips and turns and all kinds of crazy nonsense.

To fix it:

You can start out with some simple techniques by just combing your hair or brushing it in the direction that you want after washing it and then combing/brushing it with a hair dryer.  Another option is to use a flat iron it straight.

If you’ve got frizzy hair and can’t stop the ends of your hair from curling, try to use oil based hair serum to weigh down your hair no matter how often you use it. Try using organic hair serum with natural essential oils infused in it i.e. avocado oil, soybean oil, sunflower and broccoli seed oil to nourish your hair strands and protect hair from daily stressors.

You can use a blow dryer, heat will straighten out the hair.
