Makeups You Don't Truly Need Say Makeup Experts

There are too many makeup products available in stores today which leaves you wondering, what items you can do without and are worth every penny.
Milani's National MUA, Demille Michelle, and MUA and Creative Director for Jane Cosmetics, David Birdwell, share their insights about the products that aren't a necessity.

1. Thick Contouring Cream
According to Demille, over-contouring is overrated and should be stopped. Birdwell supports the idea, saying that you can go for a sculpted look with a bronzer.

2. False Lashes
SAY WHAT? Almost everyone loves to put false eyelashes so you may not agree with this. But for Birdwell, they're unnecessary since there are mascaras who can help you go for a dramatic look.
In addition, falsies take a lot of time to put on so it may be a good idea to invest on eyelash extensions

3. Rainbow Highlighters
You can find an alternative highlighter for a natural finish. After all, you won't want to look like a "walking glitter ball"

4. Translucent Powders
"Baking" your face has been a popular trend since vloggers did it. But Birdwell personally thinks that it is a complete waste of time unless you are being photographed constantly or if you have very oily skin.

5. Lip Plumping Products
Thanks to Kylie Jenner, the big-lip trend has been pretty popular and a lot of people use a professional lip suction or venom. But for Demille, a great lip pencil with a bold lip is just the perfect amount of attention to your lips. After all, big lips look very unnatural and unflattering.

6. Lip Primers
According to Birdwell, "lip primers are an unnecessary product and never live up to the hype" which we can all agree with. When you try to do  swatch test with these primers, it doesn't actually help your lipstick last longer.

So before you head on to your favorite makeup store, consider these items if you truly need them. Which makeup items did you regret buying?
