Hair care routine before soaking in sea water or chlorinated water

Your hair care routine should be spiced up during the summer season because your hair is most likely to get more damaged by the sun, especially when you spend much time in the beach. It is also crucial to put a protecting agent on your hair before heading to the beach since the sun damages your hair even when you put a hat on. So here are some tips on taking extra care of hair.

USE A DEEP CONDITIONING MASK
Before shampooing, lather a deep conditioning mask on your hair and leave it on for 10-15 minutes then rinse. Once done, return to your hair routine--shampoo and conditioner. A deep conditioning mask helps your hair keep moisturized.

TAKE A SHOWER BEFORE SWIMMING
You should wet your hair with non-chlorinated water first before dipping in the water because the hair follicles will absorb this water rather than the damaging chlorine or salt-filled water

TRY NOT TO WET YOUR HAIR
Once you're in salt water or chlorinated water, try to keep your head above the water so it won't soak up the damaging ailments from chlorine or salt water.

USE A COCONUT OIL
Instead of putting a leave-on conditioner on your hair, try to put a small amount of coconut oil.
