Slacks are not boring if you know how to dress up. Opt for a good pair of black slacks. One that would hold up even after many wears. You can pair your slacks with a button-down shirt or a blazer

The best way to look formal is wearing a blazer. You can wear a plain white shirt underneath and you're good to go.
Formal Dress
This is the easiest way to look polished and professional. But make sure your dress looks conservative. Avoid wearing short dresses and dresses with a plunging neckline.
