Makeup: Necessity Or Luxury?

by Unknown May 05, 2017 Fashion & Beauty

Makeup has been widely known over the centuries. It is used to enhance one's beauty. Over the years, makeup has advanced and is being applied daily. But there is a thin line between makeup being a necessity and a luxury. Here, you will be enlightened how much is too much.

The most basic makeup essentials are these--a foundation, concealer, blush/bronzer duo, highlighter, eyeliner, mascara, brow pencil, neutral eyeshadow palette, lipsticks (1 nude, 1 dark). and a makeup brush set.

Anything that goes beyond their respective quantities are already considered luxury. Why? Mainly because each makeup product has its own shelf life. You cannot use two or more products that are of the same variant at the same time. Experts advised makeup junkies to replace their foundations in six to twelve months upon opening, the concealers has a shelf life of up to two years, and so on. Makeup products can last for three years at the most and after that, molds and bacteria have more chances of building up and may cause breakouts and a lot more complications on your face. You can usually find the expiration date at the back of the packaging of your makeup which contains how long you’re supposed to keep the product.

Girls naturally have a tendency to collect things. So it's not truly surprising that many of us delight in wanting to have more of these things. However, it is only ideal to limit yourself from owning too many products and buy only what you need or use it until its expiration date or use it until it's gone. This way, you can save a ton of money and not waste any amount once it's past its expiry.
