But if you are ready for the bloody battle that you'll be getting into, you can be comfortable.

1. Being Prepared
Have pads in your bag, locker, or desk. This is the most important thing because if it comes as a surprise, you wouldn't be worried because you've got what you need. Having your period is normal. Don't be ashamed to bring pads anywhere. You need it.

2. Bring an extra underwear or a pair of jeans

This might come in handy if you are in school and have your own locker. Bring an extra skirt/uniform. You can also put it in your desk if you're in an office. This tip comes in handy if you're worried that you might get a leak or a stain. Wearing a pad sometimes doesn't save us from the leak so be sure you are prepared.

3. Pack a chocolate bar
Our period can make us emotionally unstable. Studies show that chocolate reduces. some of the symptoms of PMS. Plus, if you're on a diet, this is the perfect excuse to eat chocolate.

4. Have some medicine to ease up your menstrual pain
If you tend to suffer from menstrual pain such as cramps, bloating, nausea, or any of the other symptoms that may accompany your period, then you can carry around some medicine just in case. (Just make sure your school allows it.) You don’t have to take it when you get your period, but having it on hand will help you feel better if you’re feeling less-than-great.

5. Know when to expect your next period
Your period may not be quite regular yet, but it can help to start tracking it so you know just about when to expect it. Not only will this keep you from being surprised in school, but it can also lead you to take precautions that can keep you from having an emergency, such as wearing a pantyliner the week you’re expecting to get your period, just in case you get it a bit early. If you haven't started your period yet prepare for the first time, in case it's at school.

Our menstrual cycles can be a battle but it's normal and it's part of being a woman. You'll be fine!
