The Difference Between Mom, Dad, Girlfriend, & Boyfriend Jeans

Denims are one of our favorite go-to's upon choosing outfits. Denim pants in particular. There are different types of denim pants, low-rise, high-waist, flare, etc. These pants are self-explanatory.

We're sure you've hear about mom, dad, boyfriend,and girlfriend jeans, maybe you've even tried wearing one. But do you know the difference between them? If not then we've got you hooked!

The MOM jeans

Mom jeans are the relaxed and loose version of the high-waist jeans. This style has length that ends above the ankle. Here's a sample from Topshop.

The BOYFRIEND jeans

Boyfriend jeans are the complete opposite of the skinny jeans. They are baggy and have a relaxed fit and are often low-waist. They are also often bought distressed and ripped giving you that edgy look. Here's a sample from Forever 21:

The GIRLFRIEND jeans





Girlfriend jean are the girl version of the boyfriend jeans. It may also be distressed and ripped but as you can see from the photo below, it is tight and fit:

The Dad Jeans

Dad jeans are really loose. Shape is not a factor when you wear these because these jeans are straight cut.
