MICELLAR WATER: Which Brand Is Better?
Micellar water is considered the "holy grail" of makeup enthusiasts nowadays mainly because micellar water serves as an all-in-one cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and makeup remover.
Micellar water is composed of micelles--cleansing oil molecules, submerged in soft water clustered together and acts like a magnet to remove dirt, oil, and makeup without truly drying out your skin. Amazing, right?
Different beauty brands have released their own version of micellar water. Now this article will provide the pros and cons of micellar water from brands like Loreal, Garnier, and Maybelline. All these are available and can be purchased fromm your local department store.
1. L’Oreal Paris Micellar Water
P225
It can remove a lot of makeup in one go, but make sure you swipe atleast once more so there will be no makeup residue left. The good thing aout this is that they offer two kinds--blue for oily skin and pink for dry skin. Although according to some, there isn't much of a difference between the two in terms of effectiveness, except the Moisturizing (pink) variant is more moist than that of the Refreshing (blue) variant.
2. Maybelline Micellar Water
P199
This is best to use when your makeup is minimal--bb cream, regular masacara, lip tint. For its cost, it's not really worth it especially if you're into heavy makeup.
3. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water and Makeup Remover
P249
Garnier also offers two variants--pink for those with normal to dry skin, and blue for those with oily or acne prone skin. They're a little bit powerful in removing heavy makeup, including waterproof mascaras! However, when you use this as a cleanser, it may feel sticky for quite some time.
Compared to Loreal's Micellar Water, Ganier's functions more as a makeup remover and Maybelline's MW is not as cost effective.
