You Won't Believe These Items Can Actually Curl Your Hair!
No curling wand? No problem! Thanks to the internet we have found plenty of ways to curl your hair without using a hot tool. Here are the most resourceful techniques we stumbled upon to get beautiful waves. spirals, etc.
Socks
If you want to just curl the bottom part of your hair, this might be a good idea. Wet your hair with water and start taking strands after strands by wrapping the ends around the sock. Roll it up and tie the ends together. Use hair spray so it won't get sticky and will easily cling to the material.
Old T-shirts
Bring out that old t-shirt you haven't been using and twist it to create a roller shape. Tie both ends using a hair scrunchie then prep your hair. Make sure your hair is damp and tangle-free so this hack will take effect. Then brush your hair forward and place your shirt on top like a crown and start wrapping your hair around it. Do it repeatedly until all your hairs are wrapped.
Paper Towels
I have seen many HMUA use paper towels, even tissues, to curl hair during a beauty pageant. It always pays off in the end.
Tissue Rolls
You can also use empty tissue rolls for big and voluminous curls. just make sure you secure it with bobby pins.
Wax Paper
What better way to curl your hair than a household item? Particularly a wax paper? It does not easily tear when it gets wet. To curl your hair, you’ll need to take a piece of wax paper and roll it into the cylinder. Take a section of your hair as close to the roots as possible and start wrapping it around the wax paper. Knot both ends of the wax paper together when you’ve reached the bottom of your hair.
Bobby Pins
This would be the oldest technique to curl your hair and never gets old! Many people even do this and let it stay overnight to achieve the perfect curly hair.
Shoelaces
Yes, who knew, right? Here's how you do it--make a headband using a shoelace or any elastic band so it fits the shape of your head perfectly. Place the headband over your head making sure that you tuck everything behind it except for the baby hairs, of course. Then split your hair in half from the back and start from the one side stretch out the shoelace and pull your hair into it until it reaches upward. Do the same on the other half. Lastly, spray a little water to dampen your hair and let it stay for at least two hours.
