Doing a night shift job is complicated, sure there is no traffic jam to tolerate, but it always takes a toll on your body. It is not entirely true that night shift workers do not suffer as much as the day workers. The night shift workers are prone to various health disorders than the day shift workers, i.e. obesity, gastro-intestinal problems, hair loss, stress, mood swings, sleep disorders etc. Working at night lays an additional stress on your body and skin making it tired. Nevertheless, follow some effective skin care tips to enliven your skin.

CLEAN, TONE, MOISTURIZE
Before going to work, make sure you have cleansed your skin with your usual facial foam and tone it with cleanser. Then, apply your "day cream". And when you go to sleep in the morning, use your "night cream" since your skin absorbs moisture much faster when we are asleep.

STAY HYDRATED
Drink plenty of water, at least 8-10 glasses while on night shift duty. Avoid energy drinks to stay awake as it will only make you crash harder later.

MAINTAIN OR OPT FOR A HEALTHY DIET
Eat snacks that are full of vitamins and minerals like fruits or vegetables (in a salad). Avoid high sugar intake as it disturbs your collagen production leaving wrinkles. Yikes!

TAKE A SHORT WALK OR MOVE AROUND
If you have spare time during your break time, try to move around a bit as this will signal to your body that it is work time. So you stay active and productive.

SLEEP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
Lack of sleep affects your skin, hair, and even your nails. So try to sleep as soon as you get home, avoid interruptions from your smart phones and block out the daylight so you can sleep better.
